This show is a shout out to Ambrose, in memory of his Red Chicken and Rice and the whisky shared before heading off to our favourite music club in Brighton, some years passed now. Probably should have added some Brass Construction and Tower Of Power to really bring back the mood, but think this show has plenty of brass to go around. Not all the music is African based though definitely bears the influence. Another couple of shoutouts to Kurt S. for initial motivation, and to Tim at www.waxmuseumrecords.com.au for bringing a new African compilation on vinyl to my attention.
Big thanks to all the new people who have asked to be friends, but must not forget those still wrestling the systems that place so many lives in misery and horror. There is enough to share in this world, without the call for reductions in populations( usually by those living a comfortable life at the expense of others' destitution). Our water resources are being daily contaminated by poor manufacturing/mining processes and then big business wants to make destructive profits at community and environmental expense. Here's hoping the music takes us away from this road to oblivion for a time. Hope you like the mix......
